Tree depicts a divine plan…Tree Plantation is a form of worship.

A drop creates a ripple… and a ripples combine to form waves..

Together we can do it….Let’s create a BEAUTIFUL GREEN WAVE THAT NEVER DIES….

Sitting in any corner of the world….just show that you care and wish to share.. And experience the thrill, joy and satisfaction of planting a sapling from the comfort of your office or home.

 Join hands with Prithvi in this noble task…

Prithvi will plant trees in your name at any one of the given locations in Lucknow : Janakipuram, Aliganj, Aashiana-South City.

All you have to do is to join any or both the e-campaigns of Prithvi Innovations launched on 1st July 2010 to bring people together to celebrate VAN MAHOTSAV to improve the GREEN COVER around us to reduce our carbon footprints.

What you need to do to get a sapling planted in your name:

• Forward this text to ten or  more people in your network before 15th July 2010
  
• Make a chain and ask your friends also to do the same. (Forward this text to ten or more people in their network before 15th July 2010, with a cc marked to Prithvi at prithviupdates@gmail.com
  
• In the mail to Prithvi, suggest the name of the sapling/saplings you wish to get planted & the name of the person /persons whom you wish to dedicate this sapling.
  
• Prithvi’s team will plant the saplings for you at any of the given locations before 20th July.

The person who CREATES THE BIGGEST CHAIN  & the BEST POEM will be especially honored as a TARU-MITRA in a special event to be organized by Prithvi Innovations on 19th Sept.2010 at the conclusion of this Plantation drive.

• Apne andar ke KAVI ko jagaoo..Just pen down a few lines (5-10) in HINDI or ENGLISH by using any ten words from the list of words given below and send it to us at prithviupdates@gmail.com by 15th July 2010 & get a Tree planted in your name.

• If you wish you may add an illustration/picture which depicts your poem

Plantation Drive - Make our surrounding green

Prithvi is all geared up to GO GREEN this year too, perhaps in a bigger way, now that it has a bigger team, just waiting for the RainGods to shower their blessings.

For the past six years Prithvi has been celebrating VANMAHOTSAV (July to Sept.) by conducting plantation drives in schools, communities,institutions along with lot of green activities and contests at all levels to bring people together to care and conserve the rich biodiversity around them.

This year let's do the best we all can to increase the green cover in our city or any place on this planet for that matter...

So friends out with your creativity, concern and management skills to bring in as many people and as many areas and as many native and shady trees this season.

Let's involve and empower the communities, schools etc. to get greenfected.

Till the RainGods arrive lets do makes a quick check list and do the groundwork:

• identify places needing greenery
• identify the kind of saplings we need to plant and
• most important --ensure their protection and survival.

When choosing a place place ensure the following:

1. somebody owns it and is willing to take the responsiblity to water n care for the saplings-community participation is very important
2. the place must be enclosed,i.e it is protected from animals as it would be difficult to arrange tree-guards
3. there is no plans to have any construction at that place in the future so that the plants donot get disturbed n are allowed to grow.
4. it should not be too rocky n require lot of leveling etc..
5. there should be some source of regular water-supply nearby.
6. the people who own that place shd be willing to do the basics-- ground leveling, diging the pits before hand, putting manure etc..
7. where space is an issue we can suggest plantation in pots, terrace etc.

Let's divide Lucknow in 8 areas. Members residing in the respective areas may please start identifying their GREEN SPOTS well in advance:

• Janakipuram, Aliganj,Niralanagar,mahanagar
• Kursi road,Vikas Nagar
• Indiranagar
• Gomtinagar
• Alambagh n around
• South city & Aashiana

Prithvi wishes to recognize and honour these individuals n groups and provide them a platform to spread their Green Actions n build up a Green Movement n show their concern for Mother Earth..

2nd Round of Smart Green Action Contest Open from 5th June 2010.
Everybody is invited to register on the blog and join in the contest.

Contest details remain just the same,except the dates....

Report Submission date: 25th June 2010 (both hardcopy n softcopy at Prithvi's office).
The previous teams can also participate by building up on their projects.. i.e going a step further in their green efforts n extending their project..

Eco-puppet show

Prithvi innovations will host an Eco-Puppet show. The rural children, which were participants of the Umang-Prithvi Bal Kala Utsav- Summer Camp will display their work on Puppetary.  The Summer Camp was organised by Prithvi innovations for the rural children from 20th May to 3rd June 2010, at Eldeco Towne,IIm Road, Lucknow with the support of State Bank Of India, Lucknow.
